Class Description:
This course is designed to certify students as California State Emergency Medical Technicians and gain employment as an ambulance driver or ambulance attendant.
After successful completion of this course, students will be authorized to take the Los Angeles County, California State Fire Marshal and the National Registry EMT examinations.
Topics discussed include pre-hospital care terminology, cardiovascular emergencies, pre-hospital childbirth, communicable disease, extrication tools and equipment, automatic external defibrillation and an understanding of the Emergency Medical System.
Prerequisite: FTEC 121 Minimum Grade of B
